GrandPals Orientation Set for August 19

by Community Contributor

The Hopewell Valley GrandPals program—an intergenerational reading initiative that brings older adults and elementary school students together—will host its orientation meeting for the 2025–2026 school year on Tuesday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building.

GrandPals pairs senior volunteers with small groups of young students to read stories, share life experiences, and build meaningful friendships across generations. The program runs weekly at Bear Tavern (Tuesdays), Toll Gate (Tuesdays), Hopewell Elementary (Wednesdays), and Stony Brook (Fridays), with flexibility for vacations and appointments.

New and returning participants are encouraged to attend the orientation to learn more and connect with fellow volunteers.
