Hopewell Branch Library to Host 9/11 World Trade Center Steel Exhibit

by Community Contributor

The Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library System is honored to host Hopewell Valley’s steel
recovered from the World Trade Center following the 9/11 attacks.

“Twenty-three years have passed since the horrific terrorist attacks of 9/11, but our responsibility remains
to remember and honor those who were taken from us on that day,” said County Executive Dan Benson.
“This piece of steel from the World Trade Center symbolizes our commitment to remember the victims
of 9/11, as well as our continuing responsibility to their families and to the first responders who served
with bravery on that terrible day.”

The steel will be transferred to the care of the Hopewell Branch during a ceremony taking place on
Wednesday, September 11 at approximately 9:15am. Community members are welcome and encouraged
to attend.

The steel will be on display from September 11, 2024 through August, 2025. The Hopewell Branch is
located at 245 Pennington-Titusville Road, Pennington, NJ. For more information about the Mercer
County Library System, please visit www.mcl.org.
