Hopewell Branch Supports Mercer County Library’s Successful Diaper Drive

by Community Contributor

The Mercer County Library System and its Teen Advisory Board, including volunteers from the Hopewell Branch, recently completed a successful diaper drive to benefit Maker’s Place, a Trenton-based organization providing diapers to families in need.

The nine branches of the MCLS collected diaper donations from December 2-13. Volunteers from the Teen Advisory Board gathered at the Hopewell Branch to bundle the diapers on December 14. The diaper drive resulted in nearly 6,000 diapers being donated.

“I want to thank everyone in our community who donated to support this effort,” said Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, “And I’m especially proud of the members of our Teen Advisory Board, who led the charge and helped make this drive a resounding success.”

The Maker’s Place was launched in July 2018 with a broad vision: to become a resource center that connects neighbors with neighbors in diverse and inclusive community, by responding to the gifts and aspirations of people living in poverty. Their December Diaper Drive is entitled One Million and Counting to recognize its recently surpassing one million diapers distributed.
