Hopewell Elementary Hosts 2nd Annual Kid-Preneur Fair June 14

by Community Contributor

On Saturday, June 14 from 1–4PM, Hopewell Elementary School will host its second annual Kid-Preneur Fair, a one-of-a-kind event spotlighting the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of local children. Organized by Hopewell Elementary parent and local business owner Alisa Kuppe of Stumpy’s Hatchet House of Princeton, the fair will feature more than 20 booths run entirely by kids.

From mini pies and carnival games to homemade lip glosses, beaded jewelry, and even Yoda-themed drinks, the event promises a wide variety of fun and innovative offerings — all imagined and executed by young entrepreneurs.

The idea was born from Kuppe’s desire to create a space for her children and others to express their passions through hands-on business experience. Held in conjunction with the Hopewell Borough town-wide yard sale, last year’s inaugural fair was a hit, with booths selling out and children gaining real-world lessons in marketing, budgeting, and business strategy. Each participant also donated $25 to the Hopewell Elementary PTO, learning that every business venture comes with an investment.

All Kid-Preneurs submitted business plans as part of their applications, and they’re excited to welcome the community’s support. While browsing and shopping, attendees will be invited to vote on the following categories:

  • Best Presentation
  • Most Creative
  • Teamwork Made the Dream Work
  • Young Visionary Award: Making Tomorrow Brighter

An End-of-Fair Celebration and Awards Ceremony will take place at 3:45PM to recognize the young participants’ hard work and creativity.
