Hopewell Scout Organizes Bike Drive for Eagle Scout Project

by Community Contributor

Local scout, Justin Jamieson. of Boy Scout Troop 71 is organizing a bike drive as part of his Eagle Scout project, set for June 1 from 12 to 4pm at Hopewell Borough “Gazebo” Park. The “Pedals & Metal Bike Drive” welcomes donations of bicycles, cycling clothing, and accessories, come rain or shine.

All contributions will support the Mercer County Boys and Girls Club Bike Exchange. This initiative involves volunteers, including Justin, who refurbish and sell donated bikes at modest prices. All proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County, funding programs that enrich the lives of local youth.

Residents are encouraged to drop off their donations at the park located at the intersection of S Greenwood Ave and Columbia Ave, directly across from Hopewell Fire Station. For those unable to attend on June 1, the Bike Exchange will accept donations throughout June at their facility at 1500 N. Olden Avenue, Ewing, NJ.

Donation receipts will be available, ensuring that contributors can document their support.

For additional details, please refer to the attached flyer. This bike drive offers a fantastic opportunity to clear out unused items while supporting a great cause.
