Hopewell Township Police Department Celebrates 50 Years of Service

by Mike Chipowsky

On the afternoon of Saturday, June 8, the Hopewell Township Police Department celebrated 50 years of 24-hour-a-day service to the residents and visitors of Hopewell Township and, as of 1982, the residents of Hopewell Borough.

There were displays, games and plenty of food for the many who attended.

The highlight of the day was the many retired officers who were there swapping stories with the current officers of the department.

Chief Jim Rosso said, “I am so honored to serve as the Chief of this great department. The foundation was laid by those who came before and I’m sure that our department stands ready to serve for the next 50 years.”

The event was held at Woolsey Park from 1 to 5pm.
