The 21st annual Spring into Song will take place on April 14, 2 to 3:30pm. The admission-free concert features performances by five vocal groups: Jersey Transit, the Trentones, the Capital Singers, the Trenton Children’s Chorus (TCC), and the Hopewell Valley Chorus, which coordinates the event.
Kate O’Neill, Community Relations Director for the Hopewell Valley Chorus explained: “Before we had to cancel [due to COVID] in 2020, we had raised more than $64,000 for the summer camperships! There’s also a kind of exciting story when you look back at the number and variety of groups, all from central NJ, that participated. Unfortunately, some of our favorites disbanded during the pandemic, but we have a new one this year, the Capital Singers, and the Trentones, one of TCNJ*’s premier a cappella groups is in its second appearance. The programs, with each group performing three pieces is really amazing, ranging from jazz to choral, to gospel, to current popular songs. I hope you can come!!!”
The event will take place at Central Baptist Church, 2015 Pennington Road (opposite the main entrance to TCNJ). A free will collection supports the summer programs of Capital Harmony Works/Trenton Children’s Chorus. Over the years, more than 65 TCC singers have benefited from Spring into Song “camperships,” all supported by friends of this joyous event. For further information, email [email protected].
