Hopewell Valley residents are gearing up for a bright and cheerful December as both Pennington Borough and Hopewell Township launch their annual holiday decorating contests — giving neighbors two chances to show off their lights, inflatables, wreaths, and winter creativity.
Pennington Borough: 6th Annual Holiday Lights Contest
Pennington’s Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with local organizers again this year for the 6th Annual Pennington Borough Holiday Lights Contest, offering cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
There are no strict rules — just decorate, have fun, and be safe.
- Registration deadline: December 15. Register here
- Judging dates: Evenings of December 19, 20, and 21
- Eligibility: Homes must be within Pennington Borough, but everyone is encouraged to drive through and vote

Hopewell Township: 6th Annual Holiday Decorating Contest
Hopewell Township is also inviting residents to transform their homes for the season with its 6th Annual Holiday Decorating Contest, run by the Parks & Recreation Department.
According to the Township’s announcement:

- Prizes will be awarded to the top three scoring houses

Residents are encouraged to “grab your lights, inflatables, tinsel, and wreaths” and help light up the community for the holidays.
