In a letter to the Bear Tavern School community in Hopewell Township today, Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD) Superintendent Tom Smith announced that the district has completed the search process for the new principal of the Bear Tavern School.

At the next school board meeting at 7:30pm on Monday, June 15, Dr. Smith will recommend Mr. Christopher Turnbull as the next principal of the Bear Tavern School to the HVRSD Board of Education.

“Mr. Turnbull is an experienced principal who has a proven track record of improving academics, school culture as well as developing strong relationships with students, staff members, and parents,” stated Smith in his letter. “Mr. Turnbull was also the top choice of the search committee. I expect him to join the Bear Tavern School community full time on or before August 15.”

The school district has scheduled a “meet and greet” for Bear Tavern community members to meet Mr. Turnbull on Tuesday, June 16 at 7:00 pm in the Bear Tavern Media Center.
