This morning at Mercer Oaks, Democratic Committee representatives from the 15th legislative District met for a party convention to choose the successor representative to the State Assembly to fill Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman’s recently vacated seat.
Before a standing room only crowd, Mercer and Hunterdon County Democratic Party leaders choose Mercer County Chairwoman (and former Mercer County Freeholder) Liz Muoio to represent the district in the Assembly. Muoio will join Assemblyman Reed Gusciora and Senator Shirley Turner.
Congresswoman Watson Coleman addressed the room giving Muoio high praises, and saying that now is time to “stand together as Democrats.”
Assemblywoman-elect Muoio thanked all of the delegates who braved the snow this morning to cast their votes, telling the crowd that “whether you are a committee person, or a candidate, a club member, a club chair or a municipal chair, or a county chair, it takes a village” to make the local party so successful.
