LTE: Endorsing Chris Malikschmitt

To the Editor:

As a resident of Hopewell Borough, I offer my full personal endorsement of Chris Malikschmitt for Hopewell Borough Council.

Chris has demonstrated his deep investment in this community, its people, and its future through his work over several years. I’m voting for Chris Malikschmitt and I thought I’d share why:

1. He cares about Hopewell Borough, a lot. Chris and his wife Taiyyibah chose to grow and raise their young family in the borough because they love the people, history, and diversity of this community. Chris is invested in the borough’s future for all residents, old and new alike; he appreciates the rich culture and believes in preserving the history of our town while keeping an eye toward improvement for current and future residents.

2. He’s already demonstrated his ability through tangible results. Chris is currently our Borough Prosecutor, working daily to keep our residents safe. Not only is he familiar with the traffic and pedestrian issues that plague our town, but he is also actively contributing and implementing solutions in real-time. If elected, he will have even more opportunity to solve and solution for this issue as a member of borough council.

3. He’s smart. Like really, smart. He holds degrees from Brown University, University of Pennsylvania Law School, and has worked in the U.S. Senate, federal court circuit, and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. He understands how local government works which will produce quicker results and have a deeper impact in the borough. Quite frankly, he knows how to get stuff done.

I hope you will join me in endorsing and voting for Chris Malikschmitt in the Borough Council primary on June 7th

If nothing else, I hope you join me in voting, because as Thomas Jefferson said, “We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate”.
