Drivers in Hopewell Township and Pennington Borough should expect significant traffic disruptions through Saturday, July 26, as Elizabethtown Gas continues utility infrastructure work across multiple roads in both municipalities.
Construction crews are scheduled to work Monday through Saturday, with closures impacting residential access, school routes, and common throughways. Municipal officials emphasized that local traffic—including residents, emergency vehicles, delivery drivers, and waste collection—will be permitted to pass through.
Travel Advisory: Use Caution in Downtown Pennington
Pennington Borough Administrator GP Caminiti urged residents to avoid turning left from Ingleside Avenue onto Route 31 and instead use the light at Delaware Avenue for entering and exiting the Borough.
“Due to Elizabethtown Gas work on South Main Street, residents should use the traffic light at Route 31 and Delaware Avenue for entering and exiting Pennington. For safety reasons, please avoid turning left onto Route 31 from Ingleside Avenue when leaving town,” Caminiti said.
