Hopewell Township welcomes newly-graduated police officers

by Community Contributor

By Courtney Peters-Manning, Mayor of Hopewell Township

I was honored to attend the Mercer County Police Academy graduation ceremony yesterday, where the Hopewell Township Police Department had four new officers graduating. It was a beautiful ceremony, and our own Chief Jim Rosso gave inspiring remarks on behalf of the Chiefs of Police Association, of which he is Vice President, stressing the importance of teamwork, respect, and empathy.

Congratulations and welcome to Officers Michael Enriquez, Ryan Finnegan (winner of the academic award!), Robert Halmi, and James Stanton. We are proud and thankful to have you as a part of our Hopewell Township community!

Editors note: Finnegan and Stanton are Titusville natives and HVRSD grads, Enriquez is from Lawrenceville, and Halmi is from Freehold. You can read more about them here. The Police Department’s Facebook page indicates that, now that they have completed the intense 21-week Basic Police Officer course, they will begin their Field Training assignments. Thanks to the Mayor for letting us share her view of the event!
