Mayor Welcomes Starbucks to Lawrence Main Street

Late this afternoon, Lawrence Township government and community representatives welcomed the newest addition to Lawrenceville Main Street: Starbucks.

Mayor Cathleen Lewis (and MercerMe’s own “Mommy Mayor” contributor) and Lawrenceville Main Street Executive Director Lindsey Bohra joined Starbucks’ store and regional managers in cutting the ceremonial ribbon before a packed house of local officials, hungry locals, coffee aficionados and baristas.

Invited guests and lucky patrons were treated not only to the coffee chain’s trademark brew, but a custom Starbucks cake and cupcake display done by local bakers, and Lawreceville main Street neighbor business, The Gingered Peach.  (For the full scoop on the Peach’s offerings, check out MercerMe’s food contributor Renata Barns’ take here.)

Starbucks representatives also welcomed local nonprofit Homefront, announcing several collaborations, including the chain’s donation of some large pieces of restaurant equipment for the charity’s programming.

MercerMe contributor Ryan Kennedy is the Vice Chairman of the Lawrence Township Growth and Redevelopment Committee, and joins in welcoming yet another new business to the Township.
