Memorial Dedication for Flash Flood Victims at Washington Crossing

by Mary Galioto

Upper Makefield Township invites the community to a solemn dedication ceremony on Monday, July 15, at 6pm, to honor the lives lost in the tragic flash flood that occurred on July 15, 2023, at Washington Crossing. The event will commemorate the seven victims, including Susan C. Barnhart of Titusville, NJ, who tragically perished in the floods.

The ceremony will take place at The Crossing, where three trees, donated by Baumley Nursery & Landscaping, will be dedicated alongside two garden plaques bearing the names of the deceased. This memorial aims to provide a space for reflection and to honor the memory of those lost in the devastating event.

All are welcome to join in remembering and paying respects to the individuals whose lives were cut short by this unforeseen natural disaster.
