The Mercer County Library System (MCLS) invites readers of all ages to dig into a summer of discovery with its 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story,” taking place from June 15 through August 8. This year’s theme encourages participants to explore hidden worlds, discover something new, and connect with stories that inspire curiosity and imagination.
Beginning June 15, community members are invited to visit their local branch to register and take part in a summer of exploration. The 2026 MCLS Summer Reading Program offers opportunities for children, teens, and adults to stay engaged with reading and learning. Participants can track their reading, earn incentives, and take part in a variety of offerings that support creativity and lifelong learning.
“We’re excited to help Mercer residents of every age discover or re-discover the joys of reading this summer,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “Nothing beats the thrill of cracking open a book and being transported to a new world where exciting adventures await.”
Library branches across Mercer County will offer a range of programs to complement the theme, providing welcoming spaces for community members to connect, discover, and grow. Whether uncovering stories from the past, exploring new ideas, or finding a new favorite book, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
