Soccer fans from across the region are invited to gather at the Mercer County Park Festival Grounds on Saturday, July 11, for a free World Cup Watch Party to watch two of the quarterfinal games while showcasing Mercer County Park.
The event, presented by Visit Mercer, will run from 3 to 11 p.m. and feature live broadcasts of the World Cup quarterfinal matches beginning at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Norway plays England at 5 p.m. and Argentina plays Switzerland at 9 p.m.
Organizers say the event will combine international soccer with local entertainment, food, family activities and community celebrations in a festival atmosphere.
Entertainment begins at 3 p.m. with a live DJ and broadcast by Maxima Radio, featuring multilingual music and international programming. Between matches, attendees can enjoy performances by The Dockside Band, a New Jersey tribute band.
The festival will also feature international food vendors, a beer and beverage garden, interactive family activities, sports challenges, Mercer 250 celebrations and photo opportunities.
Admission and parking are free.
Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for free tickets for a chance to win a Visit Mercer experience package. A winner will be selected during the event.
The World Cup Watch Party is part of Mercer County’s effort to welcome visitors from around the world while highlighting the county’s Revolutionary War history, diverse communities and hospitality.
