Monday Sports Roundup – Part 2

On Friday, the Hopewell Valley Central High School Boys swim team competed against Holmdel in the first round of the States competition, unfortunately losing 94-76.

Despite the loss, the boys swam well. Alessio Paoloni placed first in both the 200 IM (1:59.78) and the 100 fly (54.75), and Matt Immordino placed first in the 500 free (5:19.52). In the 200 free relay, Hayden Geurds, John Raskin, Owen Seibold and Alessio Paoloni placed first with a time of 1:38.03. In the 400 free relay, Paoloni, Geurds, Christopher Sawicki and Alex Helmrich placed first with a time of 3:36.06.

Despite this being the last meet of the season, the boys finished well and can be proud of their successes this season. Congratulations to seniors Anthony Azara, Hayden Geurds, Matt Immordino, James Long, Alessio Paoloni and John Raskin. -Emilie Sawicki
