This week the Hopewell Valley boys volleyball team had a challenging week, playing three tough matches and winning one of them. First, the Bulldogs lost 2-0 to Moorestown on Tuesday. The boys had a rough start, losing the first set 25-15; they tightened up and kept the second set close but lost 25-20. Larry Kennedy played well, tallying five kills and seven digs, while Armaan Desai recorded three kills and a block. Saahith Kusupudi had fifteen assists and four digs, Eli Miller had two kills and a block, Christopher Sawicki had one kill and a block, Nick Lange had 4 kills and 2 digs, Eimantis Srogis had 2 kills and 3 digs, and Leo Huang had 6 digs for the Bulldogs.
Hopewell Valley played West Windsor-Plainsboro South on Thursday. The Bulldogs had defeated the Pirates the previous time they played, but this time South came out on top in two sets (25-14 and 25-18). Larry Kennedy had eight kills and four digs, while Saahith Kusupudi recorded seventeen assists and two digs. Armaan Desai tallied six kills, Leo Huang had six digs, Christopher Sawicki recorded two kills and two digs, and Eli Miller had a dig.
The Bulldogs rebounded on Friday, defeating Rancocas Valley in three sets (25-23, 21-25, 25-22). Armaan Desai played an amazing game, recording eight kills and seven blocks. Saahith Kusupudi tallied twenty-six assists and nine digs, two kills, and a block, while Larry Kennedy had five kills and eight digs. Eli Miller had three kills and a block, Eimantis Srogis had eight kills and five digs, Nick Lange had four kills, a block and seven digs, and Leo Huang recorded eight digs for the Bulldogs.
The boys have another big week upcoming, with games against Hillsborough, Pennsauken and West Windsor-Plainsboro North. – Christopher Sawicki
