Pennington Borough residents can expect a series of road closures beginning this week as Elizabethtown Gas starts laying a new gas main through town, Borough officials announced Monday.
The work, scheduled to continue through at least July 19, will affect multiple streets in and around the Borough, including Pennington Road, South Main Street, Pennington-Titusville Road, and West Delaware Avenue. The construction will require temporary road closures, though access will remain open for residents, emergency services, deliveries, and waste collection.
“We’ve been working very closely with Elizabethtown Gas to minimize disruptions to our traffic flows and residents, and they have been considerate and helpful,” said Borough Administrator G.P. Caminiti in a letter sent to residents on July 14. “Please know that the Borough of Pennington has no control over project planning and logistics.”
While much of the project falls under the jurisdiction of Mercer County, the Borough is coordinating with both the County and the utility company to reduce the impact on daily life in Pennington.
Weekly updates will be shared with the public as they become available.
