Pennington’s dining scene has expanded with two new establishments in the Pennington Shopping Center on Route 31. PJ’s Pancake House, a long-standing restaurant known for its breakfast offerings, and Pennytown Pub, a new local pub concept, are now open to the community.
PJ’s Pancake House began serving customers this past Monday in the former Union Boil location. The restaurant, part of the Gretalia Hospitality Group, offers breakfast and lunch daily from 8am to 3pm. Known for its diverse menu, the restaurant brings its signature pancakes and other comfort food favorites to Pennington.
Next door, Pennytown Pub opened its doors on Wednesday. The pub, which takes its name from Pennington’s original moniker, offers a menu of classic pub fare alongside craft beers and cocktails. It is open daily from 4 to 10pm, with happy hour specials available from 4 to 6pm on weekdays.
In an email, Giovanni Procaccini, of Gretalia Hospitality Group, shared the vision behind the new pub: “We wanted to pay homage to the Hopewell Valley and Pennington. Pennytown Pub is a place for the community to gather, share stories, and make connections.”
Both venues aim to cater to local residents, with PJ’s Pancake House providing a casual, family-friendly atmosphere during the day, while Pennytown Pub offers an evening option for dining and socializing.
