Hopewell Valley boasts a long standing tradition of outstanding talent when it comes to their performing arts programs. The crew, director and cast leads the way each year with numerous awards in their field and this year was no exception! Congratulations to the members of HVCHS’s Thespian troupe for another great showing at the New Jersey Thespian Festival! Receiving Superior medals for their events were; Frankie Bancroft and Payton Tharp for Solo Musical Theatre, Sophia Parsons for contrasting monologues, Elliot Block and Piper Ward for duet musical theatre, and Ella Williams and Rachel Thornton for their short film.  Ella and Rachel were also awarded a New Jersey Governor’s Award for their film, an incredible honor!  Elliot and Piper’s duet was selected as one of 4 pieces in the festival to be featured in the showcase.

Additionally, a cutting of the fall play, Much Ado About Nothing was entered. Piper Ward received an honorable mention for best supporting actress.  Sophia Parsons won a second place trophy for best actress, the production overall, led by director of theatre, Katie Rochon, came in second place for the festival, and Elliot Block won the first place trophy for Best Actor.
