Hopewell Township officials have shared a new round of road closures tied to the ongoing Elizabethtown Gas infrastructure project. The work will impact several key streets across the township and Pennington Borough during the week of Monday, September 29 through Friday, October 4, 2025.
Closure Schedule
Monday, Sept. 29
- Abey Drive and East Delaware Avenue
- Closed at King George Road
- Closed at E. Delaware Avenue and N/S Main Street intersection
- Thru traffic restricted at Eglantine Avenue and Park Avenue
Tuesday, Sept. 30
- Broemel Place and Green Street
- Closed at Route 31 and Broemel Place
- Closed at W. Delaware Avenue and Green Street
- Closed at Green Street and Brookside Place
Wednesday, Oct. 1
- Broemel Place and Green Street (same restrictions as Tuesday)
Thursday, Oct. 2
- Broemel Place and Green Street (same restrictions as Tuesday)
Friday, Oct. 3
- Pennington Titusville Road (Hopewell Twp.) & W. Delaware Avenue (Pennington)
- Closed at S. Timberlane Drive & Pennington Titusville Road
- Closed at Route 31 & W. Delaware Avenue
- Access to Hopewell Valley Central High School, Timberlane Middle School, and the Mercer County Library’s Hopewell branch will be maintained via Dublin Road
Access Remains Open for Residents and Essential Vehicles
Township officials emphasized that local residents, emergency vehicles, school buses, garbage and recycling trucks, and delivery services will be able to get through the closures as necessary.
The detours are part of the multi-week gas line replacement project that has required rotating road shutdowns throughout Pennington and Hopewell Township. Officials urge motorists to plan alternate routes, expect delays in work areas, and use caution when traveling near crews.
