Scout Troop 1776 and Cub Scout Pack 1776 brought the community together Monday evening with a potluck dinner to thank local police, firefighters, and emergency personnel for their service.

Roughly 45 Scouts, and their parents, helped prepare and serve the meal inside the Union Fire Company community room. The event drew a crowd from the Hopewell Township Police Department, Union Fire Company, local park police, and other first responders.
Scouts lined the buffet tables, offering pasta, salads, baked dishes, sandwiches, and desserts to police officers and firefighters as they arrived. Many members of Union Fire Company came directly from their monthly meeting next door, joining families at long tables covered in handwritten “thank you” messages from the Scouts.
Hopewell Township Police Chief James Rosso and several officers attended the dinner, along with members of the fire company and other emergency personnel, who spent time talking with the Scouts and sharing the meal before heading back out for the evening.
The potluck was organized as the troop’s way of showing appreciation for the first responders who support the community year-round.
