According to Joe Donnelly, deputy executive director of communications at the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, the the recent ramp closures at the I-295 bridge will reopen shortly.
He reported on Tuesday, August 17:
“A slight update on the opening of the Scudder Falls Bridge’s second span and the reopening of the closed ramps at the I-295/Taylorsville Road interchange (Exit 10):
- I-295 New Jersey-bound traffic could be shifted onto the new parallel downstream span in a single-lane pattern shortly after 8pm tonight.
- The closed ramps at I-295/Taylorsville Road also should be phased back into service tonight. It’s possible that this phase in could begin as early as 8 pm, too.
- Weather permitting, the new bridge should be opened to two lanes of New Jersey-bound I-295 by Wednesday morning’s peak commuting period, starting 6am and all entry and exit ramps near the bridge should be fully operational.”
