Ever consider becoming a community journalist? Then you’ll want to register for the upcoming free course at Mercer County Community College. MCCC has opened registration for the 2025 session of its Community Journalism “J Lab” certificate program for participants who are 18 and older. In it, you will learn the basic news-writing and reporting skills needed to cover issues of concern to your community, and create a publishable article. Sessions will be led by journalism professor Holly K. Johnson who has 20 years of experience in the subject. The free eight-evening program starts on Thursday, January 23, 2025, in person at the college’s conference center, Room 208. Sessions last from 6pm-8:30pm. The program is free and all materials will be provided.
Here at MercerMe, we know many of you have great stories to tell, but might feel shy about writing them down. We encourage you to let us know what is going on in your neighborhood, send us reports of kids’ soccer games, and delve into anything that interests you, anywhere in Hopewell Valley.
