Stonybrook Road to be closed for bridge repair

by Amie Rukenstein

Due to severe deterioration, one of the bridges on Stony Brook Road in Hopewell Township is scheduled for replacement by the Mercer County Department of Transportation & Infrastructure (see map, above). Work is expected to begin Monday, June 19, with an anticipated completion time of approximately 45 business days, weather permitting. The bridge will be closed to traffic throughout the duration of the project. Motorists will be directed to use Lambertville-Hopewell Road, Louellen Street, West Broad Street and Pennington-Hopewell Road.

Editor’s note: in this press release, the County referred to the bridge location as “over Zippy Creek.” MercerMe put our heads together and had no idea what this referred to. Please let us know if you know by contacting us at [email protected]. The map is based on coordinates sent to us by the Mercer County Engineer.
