Structure Fire extinguished on Skyfield Drive

The Hopewell Township Police Department, along with the Pennington Fire Company responded to a Skyfield Drive address in Hopewell Township for a residential structure fire yesterday evening. The residents smelled smoke on the first floor of the residence and dialed 9-1-1.

Fire personnel, under the command of Pennington Fire Company Deputy Chief Roger Demareski, arrived on location and quickly extinguished a small fire in a bathroom.

Responding agencies assisting the Pennington Fire Company were the Hopewell Fire Department, Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Lawrenceville Fire Company and Princeton Fire Department.

The home suffered fire, smoke and water damage and is now not habitable. No injuries were reported.  

The source of the fire is under investigation by Officer Klesney of the Hopewell Township Police Department and Lt. Bailey of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services. 

The fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time.
