Starting today, MercerMe is launching an ambitious effort: 100 new supporters in just 10 days. It’s a big number for a small newsroom, but we believe it’s within reach — with your help.
Why This Matters
MercerMe is Hopewell Valley’s only consistent source of reliable local news — digital or print. If you’ve read about town planning decisions, school board debates, or community events, you likely read it here. Our reporting helps neighbors stay informed, hold leaders accountable, and stay connected.
How It All Started
Twelve years ago, I found myself sitting through hours of Township planning board meetings about the future of Scotch Road. No one else was covering it, even though it was going to reshape the community. That moment sparked MercerMe.
Since then, we’ve grown from a one-person passion project into a daily digital newsroom (yes, daily – we publish on our website every day). And now, thanks to reader support, we have a full-time editor, Seth Siditsky, leading the charge. Seth is digging deep into the stories that matter — from school budget crises to election coverage — and our community is stronger for it.
Why We Need You Now
We’re proud of what we do, but it takes real resources to deliver local news every day. Currently, less than a third of our revenue comes from community support. If we’re going to keep going—and thrive—we need that to change.
“I support MercerMe as my local news source because of its truthful, excellent, and thoughtful reporting.”
– Dan Pace
