by Mike Chipowsky

At 10pm April 15, all three Hopewell Valley Fire Departments were detailed to Old Mill Road on a report that a car was submerged in flood waters and the two occupants were sitting on the roof of the vehicle.

A rescue boat was launched and, at approximately 10:25pm, the two occupants were successfully rescued from the flood waters. There were no reported injuries.

Old Mill Road is a roadway that often floods following heavy rains.

According to Rutgers- NJ Weather, Hopewell Township received 1.25″ of rain in a short period in the early evening on April 15.
