Youth Creativity Takes Center Stage at Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County’s 2026 Art Show

by Community Contributor

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County will host its annual Youth Art Show on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Spruce Street Club, celebrating the creativity, voice, and collective power of young people.

This year’s exhibition, themed “The Power of Us,” features immersive, site-based installations created by Club members that explore unity, identity, imagination, and shared impact.

The 2026 Art Show will transform the Club into a dynamic gallery experience, with each program site fully reimagining a designated space to reflect a unique subtheme. Visitors will move through environments such as The Dream DistrictThe Garden of UnityThe City of LightThe Culture Carnival, and The Mirror Maze of Me, among others—each designed and built by youth artists working collaboratively with staff.

“Creativity is not just about art—it’s a critical skill for the 21st-century workforce,” said Ayana Bell, Director of Youth Programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County. “Employers consistently tell us that creativity, problem-solving, and the ability to think differently are what they value most. Through this art show, our young people are building those skills while discovering the power of their own voices and ideas.”

The exhibition highlights how arts education supports youth development by fostering collaboration, confidence, and innovation. By engaging in large-scale, immersive projects, Club members learn to plan, communicate, and bring bold ideas to life—skills that translate far beyond the gallery space.

Community members, partners, donors, and supporters are invited to attend from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on February 5 and experience the creativity and talent of local youth firsthand at the Spruce Street Club, located at 1040 Spruce Street, Lawrence Township, NJ.

Please note: The Youth Art Show was originally scheduled for January 29 and has been rescheduled to February 5 due to the recent snowstorm.
