Voices Chorale NJ Hosts Summer Sing and Auditions

by Community Contributor

Voices Chorale NJ invites all singers to join for an open summer sing, on Monday, August 19, 7:30pm, featuring selections from the group’s 2024-2025 repertoire including excerpts from the Requiems by Mozart and Brazilian composer José Maurício Nunes Garcia, who was the first to conduct the Mozart in Brazil and who also modeled his own Requiem on Mozart’s. The event will be held at Music Together Worldwide Headquarters at 225 Pennington-Hopewell Rd, Hopewell, NJ, and is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.

Scores will be provided, and light refreshments and ice cream will be served. It’s an opportunity to sing both well-loved and new music, meet Voices’ director, Dr. David A. McConnell, and learn some fascinating history and context about the compositions. Meet other singers and consider setting up an audition to join.

Those interested in joining Voices Chorale NJ may audition that evening by contacting Linda Silber: [email protected]. All voice parts are welcome to audition, but tenors and bass/baritones are especially encouraged.
