Crowd Fills Woolsey Park for Hopewell’s Fireworks Celebration

by Mike Chipowsky

Hopewell Township’s annual fireworks celebration lit up the sky Sunday evening after being postponed due to Saturday’s storm forecast. Held at Woolsey Park, the June 29 event drew a large crowd for a full evening of festivities, including classic cars, live music, and the much-anticipated fireworks show.

The celebration began with a car show featuring lovingly restored vintage vehicles, followed by a performance from Castle Lane, a high-energy local band that kept the crowd dancing and singing into the evening. As darkness fell, spectators filled the lawn with blankets and chairs, turning their attention skyward for a spectacular fireworks display.

According to Hopewell Valley Veterans Association President Ken Baker, “This day of celebration is completely funded by donations from our community. No tax dollars are spent on these beautiful fireworks. We hope to see everyone back next year as we celebrate our country’s 250th birthday.”
