Thunder Drop Series Opener to Williamsport, Look to Rebound Tuesday Morning

by Community Contributor

The Trenton Thunder dropped their third straight game Monday night, falling 5–2 to the Williamsport Crosscutters in the first of a two-game home series at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

Williamsport put up four runs in the fourth inning and added an insurance run in the eighth to seal the win, despite a late push by the Thunder. Trenton right fielder Cameron Yuran launched his first home run of the season—a 399-foot shot to right field—in the seventh to cut the deficit to 4–2. The Thunder loaded the bases later that inning but were unable to capitalize.

Both teams combined for 21 hits, with Williamsport out-hitting the Thunder 12 to 9. Trenton stranded 10 runners on base in the loss.

The Thunder wrap up their homestand Tuesday morning with an 11 a.m. matchup against the Crosscutters. The game will feature Summer Camp Day promotions. Tickets and event information are available at trentonthunder.com.
