Penn Medicine Princeton Health leaders and staff recently celebrated the opening of a new 1,200-space, six-story parking garage dedicated to patients and visitors of Princeton Medical Center.
“The addition of 60% more free parking spaces on the Princeton Medical Center campus will make it easy for patients to park and quickly enter our buildings, enhance safety, and help ensure accessibility as the campus continues to evolve to meet our community’s needs,” remarked Penn Medicine Princeton Health CEO James G. Demetriades. “It’s part of our commitment to patient-centered care, which is at the heart of everything we do.”
The building was thoughtfully designed for the convenience and safety of patients and visitors. Amenities include:
- Safety features, including security cameras, and blue light duress alarms with two-way communication
- Sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks with automated occupancy detectors to be installed to enhance pedestrian safety along Hospital Drive
- Pedestrian signs that illuminate at night
Additional features include LED lighting throughout, designated spaces for compact cars, bike racks, 18 EV charging spaces, and 26 EV-ready spaces for the future. “The environmentally friendly aspects of the garage design are part of Princeton Health’s pledge to advance the health of the community by incorporating sustainable energy features whenever possible,” said Greg Evans, Corporate Sustainability Director for the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
