Drivers who use the Washington Crossing Bridge will need to find another route for several hours Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The Washington Crossing Toll-Supported Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission maintenance crews repaint the centerline on the bridge deck. The pedestrian walkway will remain open.
The bridge connects Hopewell Township with Upper Makefield Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Drivers can use the Scudder Falls (I-295) Toll Bridge, about 2.5 miles south, or the New Hope-Lambertville Toll-Supported Bridge, about 6.9 miles north, as alternate routes.
The 121-year-old bridge has a 3-ton vehicle weight restriction and a 15 mph speed limit.
The commission said the scheduled closure could change because of weather, emergencies or other circumstances.
