Vote for Five Open-Minded Candidates for the Charter Study Commission

by Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

There is a 2-part referendum question asking Hopewell Township residents if we should change our form of local government.  Question #1 asks if we should form a Charter Study Commission.  Question #2 asks who should serve on the Commission, if #1 passes.

As for Question #1, I have lived in the Township for almost 30 years, and I have seen a lot of changes.  But I have not heard anyone say why we should change our form of government.  Our current form works and works well.

Whether you vote yes or no on Question #1, please still choose 5 Commissioners in Question #2.  Because if Question #1 passes, the 5 Commissioners will review options for our local government.

I’ve read the interviews and the websites.  There are 5 candidates who have demonstrated they will truly take an honest, unbiased, open-minded review of the options.

I am voting for Chris Pazdan (ballot position #1), Melanie Walter (#4), Frank Guenther (#5), Grace Rarich (#6), and Josh Wilson (#8).  I encourage you to vote for them as well.

Sincerely,

Lisa Rizziello

Hopewell Township Resident
