Willliam Penn and Pennsylvania’s Only Witch Trial

Just in time for the witching season, Delaware River Greenway Partnership invites you to its next Heritage Lecture, William Penn and Pennsylvania’s Only Witch Trial, on Thursday, October 8 at 7:30 PM via Zoom.

Join Pennsbury Manor Museum Director Doug Miller as he guides attendees through the real history of William Penn presiding over Pennsylvania’s only witch trial, the case against Margaret Mattson.  Got milk?  Well neither did her neighbors…obviously a hex was upon the cattle and only one answer was in the making.  A Witch!

Presenter Bio:

Doug Miller has been a museum director for over 35 years serving at Curtin Village in Center County, Pa; Hope Lodge and Graeme Park both in Montgomery County; Brandywine Battlefield Park in Delaware and Chester Counties; Washington’s Crossing Historic Park; and currently Pennsbury Manor in Bucks County.  Mr. Miller serves the broader museum field as an accreditation peer reviewer and is a chairman of Visit Bucks County tourist destination organization.
