On Saturday April 16, the Hopewell Valley Lions, clad in their bright yellow vests, will be in front of the Pennington Quality Market soliciting donations for their semi-annual White Cane Sale. The event is dedicated to Helen Keller, who, many years ago, called on the Lions to be “Knights for the Blind in the Crusade against Darkness.”
All funds collected will go to the Delaware Valley Eye Bank, which collects corneas for transplantation so that many will be able to see the world about them.
It will also be a good time to bring along your old eyeglasses and deposit them in the yellow Lion post office box alongside the Market. They will be processed and used for Lions Sight Missions throughout the world.
