Holiday lights season is officially underway in Hopewell Valley as judging opens this week for both Pennington Borough’s and Hopewell Township’s annual decorating contests. The friendly competitions, now in their sixth year, invite residents to brighten their neighborhoods with lights, inflatables, wreaths, and other festive displays — all purely for fun and community cheer.

Pennington Borough: Map Released as Judging Kicks Off
Pennington’s 6th Annual Holiday Lights Contest begins its judging period the evenings of December 19, 20, and 21, with volunteers touring the Borough to evaluate this year’s entries. A map of participating homes is now available at:

The contest is organized by Pennington Parks & Recreation in partnership with local volunteers. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. While entries must be located within the Borough, residents throughout Hopewell Valley are encouraged to take a drive around town and enjoy the displays.
