The Hopewell Township Police Department, along with the Pennington Fire Department responded to a Pennington Titusville Road address in Hopewell Township for a residential structure fire on Wednesday evening, July 21. The residents were alerted to the odor of smoke coming from the upstairs of the residence, observed smoke and called 9-1-1.
Fire personnel, under the command of Chief James DeForte of the Pennington Fire Department arrived on location and extinguished the fire.
Responding agencies assisting the Pennington Fire Department were the Hopewell Fire Department and Emergency Medical Unit, Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad, Ewing Township Fire Department, West Trenton Fire Company, Lawrenceville Fire Company and the Upper Makefield Fire Department.
Pennington Titusville Road was closed for approximately two hours during firefighting operations.
The home suffered fire, smoke and water damage and was not habitable. No injuries were reported. The fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature at this time.
