Peter Swanson Sworn In as New Hopewell Township Fire Commissioner

by Mike Chipowsky

The Hopewell Township Board of Fire Commissioners has welcomed a new member, as Peter Swanson was officially sworn in to serve on the board.

Board Chairman Erik Burd administered the oath of office while Swanson’s wife, Jamie, held the family Bible.

Swanson brings 35 years of emergency service experience with the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad of Titusville, where he has served as an EMT and was named Firefighter of the Year in 1992. Over more than three decades, he has held numerous leadership positions, including Engineer, Captain, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, and President — the latter for 19 years.

Swanson will serve as Board Secretary in 2026.

The Swanson family lives in the Titusville with their two children.
