Pastor Kate Hillis and the members of the Hopewell United Methodist Church were joined by furry, feathery and finny friends for a Blessing of Animals on Sunday, May 7 at the church in Hopewell Borough.Every animal including dogs, chickens and a pet goldfish received an individual blessing.
The event was part of the church’s Earth Awareness theme for April and May, “Caring for our Common Home,” in that caring for and being thankful for pets expresses love, care, and concern for the Earth.
After the blessing, many community members and parishioners stayed to enjoy a picnic lunch with friends and pets.
