
As tick season gets underway across New Jersey, residents will have an opportunity to learn directly from experts about tick-borne diseases, prevention strategies, and ongoing scientific research during a free public program hosted by Hopewell Township and Rutgers University.
“The Tick Talk” will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hopewell Township Municipal Center, 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road, Titusville.
The educational presentation will be led by the Rutgers Center for Vector Biology’s NJ Ticks 4 Science! program, which works to educate residents about ticks and tick-borne illnesses while engaging the public in research and surveillance efforts.
Topics will include:
- Tick-borne diseases
- The tick life cycle
- How infection occurs
- Habitat modification
- How to protect yourself against ticks
- The NJ Ticks 4 Science! program
