Small business grants available – application process starts Friday morning

by Community Contributor

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) announced last week that it is offering a grant program for smaller businesses. The $5 million program will provide grants up to $5,000 to small businesses in retail, arts, entertainment, recreation, accommodation, food service and other services – such as repair, maintenance, personal and laundry services – to stabilize their operations and reduce the need for layoffs or furloughs.

The application process is going live at 9am Friday, April 3.

“Although the grant amounts are not large and are designated to specific industry sectors, I anticipate a great deal of interest and that the total program dollars will be committed quickly,” Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes said. “I don’t want our Mercer County smaller businesses to miss out on this opportunity.”
