Titusville Marketplace celebrated its grand opening on May 4, marking a milestone for the Titusville community. Situated along River Road (Rt 29), this bustling hub is now home to two local businesses: L’Annexe de Mamie Colette and Titusville Tabletop Games.
L’Annexeis a French bakery with made-to-order crepes as well as other pastries and many types of bread baked on-site. Meanwhile, Titusville Tabletop Games features a play space for classic board games as well as role-playing games. It also has a retail space and is available to rent for special events. .
At the location of the former Abbott’s Marine and Midstate Equipment, the site boasts eco-friendly enhancements such as green spaces and permeable asphalt to manage stormwater effectively.
Titusville Marketplace was brought to life by David Earling and Maria Nicolo, longtime residents with a shared vision of revitalizing their community. For Earling, who has deep roots in Titusville, the project holds personal significance, having worked at the site during his youth.
“The transformation of what was Abbott’s Marine 50 years ago is truly amazing. We are so grateful for the vision and hard work that has made this property come alive again,” said Judy Abbott Niederer, descendant of the site’s original developer, “River” Jim Abbott.
The grand opening ceremony welcomed Judy Abbott Niederer and her family, underscoring the history and new future of this beloved locale. In attendance were also Hopewell Township mayor, Courtney Peters-Manning, and Township Committee members David Chait and Michael Ruger.
