USGS reports that there was an aftershock at 5:59pm today, emanating 7kms southwest of Gladstone – about 10 miles east of Whitehouse Station where the epicenter of this morning’s earthquake was. USGS said this morning we should expect an aftershock around 3.8 magnitude and this one was 4.0.
This morning’s quake was the largest to strike the northeast since 1783, according to USGS and approximately 42 million people felt it.
