Hopewell Township Police Announces New Emergency Notification System

by MercerMe Staff

In an effort to improve its emergency communications, Hopewell Township has partnered with SwiftReach Networks, Inc. as our emergency notification provider. This notification service is designed to deliver important and timely information to residents in our area using the latest technology.

Swift911™ is a high speed Emergency Notification System that alerts residents to emergency situations, including severe storm warnings, road closures, or water problems in the local area. Officials can map out a select area for notification or send a message to all of Hopewell Valley, depending on the event. Using Swift911™, municipal officials are able to send recorded voice messages to home phones and cell phones, text messages to cell phones and email messages. Swift911™ will supplement other methods currently used to get important information out to residents such as updates to the Hopewell Township website and Facebook pages.

Swift911™ will replace our CodeRed system. If you signed up for CodeRed, you will need to update your contact information and preferences with Swift911™.

The SwiftReach Network Data has been provided by a third party data provider and only includes listed phone numbers in Hopewell Valley. It is important for residents and business owners to provide contact information such as unlisted, unpublished or cell phone numbers. Accurate numbers in the database help to ensure emergency information will be passed on to everyone in a timely manner. In order to register additional phones, cell phones and emails please visit the Hopewell Township website home page or the police department’s webpage at www.hopewelltwp.org.

To get the Swift911™ Public App for your mobile device, simply text the word “Swift911” to “99538.” You will receive a response with a link to get the Swift911™ Public App within your app store. This app is free and available on most Apple, Android, and Windows smart phones.

You can also register by contacting the Hopewell Valley Office of Emergency Management at 609-737-3100 ext. 5690.

The time to register is now. Don’t wait for an emergency to happen.
