Residents of Stephenson Road may have noticed a continuously flowing fire hydrant. This is part of Trenton Water Works’ (TWW) annual low-velocity flushing program, designed to maintain water quality within its 683-mile distribution system. Flushing helps prevent the growth of pathogens, such as Legionella, by ensuring chlorine levels remain effective, a crucial measure during the warmer months.
The hydrant flushing will continue throughout the summer to keep the water system clean and safe.
