Pennington celebrated Memorial Day on a sunny Monday with a lively and heartfelt parade through its downtown streets — a tradition that offered families, friends, and neighbors a meaningful way to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.

The day kicked off with the always-popular Kids Bike Brigade, featuring dozens of children on festively decorated bicycles, trikes, and scooters. Many wore red, white, and blue attire, waving flags or donning patriotic hats as they rolled out.
The parade lineup included fire trucks from Pennington, Hopewell, and Union — ranging from antique engines to modern rescue rigs. Members of the Hopewell Valley Central High School Marching Band and Color Guard brought energy and sound to the event, performing as they moved in step down the parade route.
Veterans and public safety officers helped carry a giant American flag through the streets, drawing applause and cheers from everyone.
It was a beautiful day to commemorate the meaning of Memorial Day as a community.
